How to Identify Scholarship Scams !

1. Application Fee: Scholarship scams are used by organizations that charge fees for availing procedures or application submissions that can be undertaken free of cost. Never pay for scholarship application fees.
2. Guaranteed Scholarship Award: Scams that guarantee an award- Now this trap can be tempting to an aspiring student. Nobody can guarantee a scholarship. If you are worthy and your concerns are true you will certainly get it. Don't get into the trap called 'Scholarship guarantee'. No such thing exists.
3. You "Win" a Scholarship that You Never Applied: Scholarships scams will contact college students informing them that they have won full college scholarship. You cannot win a scholarship if you have never for applied for it.
4. Free Scholarship Scams: Nothing in life comes easily. There is no such thing like Free Scholarship. Scholarship is generally given to students with high quality academic record. Simply money does not grow on three.
5. Request for Personal Information: Some scams ask for your personal details, such as bank statement, date of birth, passwords, account numbers, social security number etc. Never share your personal information with anyone online. Your identity might get cloned.

PHD SCHOLARSHIPS IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MILAN ITALY 2011

Italy 2011, The University of Milan announces a competition by selection on the basis of academic qualifications for the admission of non EU citizens to the following Research Doctorate/Ph.D. degree in Information Technology.

Study Subject(s):Information Technology
Course Level:PhD
Scholarship Provider: The University of Milan
Scholarship can be taken at: Italy

Eligibility:
Applications for selection are invited from non EU citizens who do not come within the purview of Italian Legislative Decree N° 286, dated 25 July 1998, as amended by Law N° 189, dated 30 July 2002 and hold a foreign degree.

The candidates’ degrees will be recognised as equivalent to the Italian “Laurea magistrale” (exclusively for the purposes of this competition) by the competent Academic Board. The University can at any time exclude candidates lacking the admission requirements.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Yes

Scholarship Description: The aim of the Graduate School of Information Technology is to provide: – solid, wide-ranging knowledge about the basics of information sciences and technologies and related fields; – advanced and in-depth competences about specific disciplinary aspects; – the interdisciplinary skills necessary to be able to exploit cultural and methodological synergies; – a sound methodological grounding in the conduct of research, as well as in its organisation, management and dissemination; – opportunities for internationalisation and advanced relations with economic, social and production bodies located in the area. The aim is to prepare students with an extensive, sound cultural background, providing them with a high degree of flexibility, an open mind and in-depth, innovative competences in specific fields. These students will be capable of conducting and managing both theoretical and applied research activities independently, contributing greatly to maintaining and advancing scientific and technological knowledge at international level. They will also be capable of designing and building complex IT systems, developing innovative IT applications and transferring their knowledge to the private sector, thus contributing to consolidating and expanding the role played by Italian firms in the global economic scenario

The training provided by the School has been articulated by identifying blocks of courses (the curricula) that correspond to specific areas of interest in IT disciplines. The longer courses cover fundamental areas of information sciences and technologies, while the short courses go into greater detail about specific topics, above all by presenting recent research projects and results and so providing stimuli for the postgraduate students’ own research activities. Each postgraduate student is free to construct his/her own study plan, choosing several long courses and several short courses of interest to him/her. It is also possible to attend courses at other Italian and foreign universities, so as to expand the opportunities for training and encourage internationalisation.

PhD Scholarships within the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research & Technology (SMART), Future Urban Mobility (FM) IRG, Singapore Read more: PhD Schol

PhD scholarships for projects within the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research & Technology (SMART), Future Urban Mobility (FM) IRG, to be supervised by NTU and MIT faculty.

Study Subject(s):Future urban mobility systems
Course Level:PhD
Scholarship Provider: Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research & Technology (SMART), Future Urban Mobility (FM) IRG
Scholarship can be taken at: Singapore

Eligibility:
Excellent Bsc, GRE and TOEFL scores

Scholarship Open for International Students: Yes
Scholarship Description:The Future Urban Mobility (FM) Interdisciplinary Research Group is the fourth and most recent IRG established within the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART). The FM IRG`s activities began officially on July 1, 2010.

The goal of the FM IRG is to develop, in and beyond Singapore, new paradigms for the planning, design and operation of future urban mobility systems. Innovative urban mobility systems, aimed at both passengers and freight, will materially enhance sustainability and societal well-being on a global scale.

This is a particularly opportune time to address this topic due to a confluence of relevant developments: major advances in computing, communications, and sensing technologies; the great progress that has been made in recent years in our ability to model, evaluate and optimize urban mobility systems; the growing importance of environmental sustainability issues; the aging of physical infrastructure in developed countries and the need for massive new infrastructure in less developed ones; and the vast economic stimulus that can be provided by the modernization and renewal of urban mobility systems worldwide.

The FM IRG will:

* harness and enhance promising networked computing and control (NCC) technology-enabled innovations that may contribute to improved future urban mobility;
* develop decision models that can be applied to support various novel mobility concepts, such as the pervasive use of real-time information, mobility-on-demand services and green logistics;
* investigate the potential and impacts of these innovations and decision models; and
* assess their implications for urban development and urban planning organizations and institutions.

The concrete project is the following:

Real-time Path Tracking/Predictions and On-Demand Route Guidance Under Uncertainty
Develop algorithms that use real-time data to (i) track and predict paths in dynamic transportation networks, and (ii) provide on-demand route guidance under uncertainty.

How to Apply: Please send detailed curriculum vitae, statement of research interests, three references, GRE and TOEFL scores, and relevant publications (if applicable) electronically to:Prof. Justin Dauwels(recruitment-at-dauwels.com)
