The Human Frontier Science Program- Research Grants
Introduction: The Human Frontier Science Program supports international collaborations in basic life science research withemphasis placed on novel, innovative and interdisciplinary approachesto fundamental investigations. Applications are invited for grants tosupport new approaches to understanding complex mechanisms of livingorganisms. Preliminary results are not required but applicants areexpected to develop new lines of research distinct from their ongoingresearch.There are two types of grants: New Investigators' Grants are for teamsof scientists who are all within five years of establishing anindependent laboratory and within ten years of obtaining their PhDs.Program Grants are for teams of scientists at all stages of theircareers, however the participation of younger scientists is especiallyencouraged.Eligibility: The principal applicant must be located in one of themember countries (includes Australia) but co-investigators can belocated in any country.
Amount Awarded: Grants provide 3 years support for 2 – 4 member teams.Awards are dependent on team size but can be up to US$450K per annum.Indirect Cost Recovery: This scheme is subject to University of Sydneyindirect costs of up to 10%.For more information see:http://fmweb01.ucc.usyd.edu.au/research/search_research.html
