PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
As a part of SAP (Switzerland) Inc., SAP Research offers PhD students
the opportunity to work in innovative and applied research projects. SAP
Research is a worldwide organization with currently 17 locations. In
Switzerland, SAP Research has a close cooperation with world class universities
such as the ETH Zürich and the University of St. Gallen (HSG). As a PhD
candidate, you will be supervised by experienced colleagues and a professor from
one of the Swiss universities. The topic of your PhD thesis will be directly
related to our research projects, and you will be an important member of our

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND
COMPETENCIES
- University Degree (Diploma or Master) in computer science,
information systems or business administration with excellent
grades.
- Strong software development skills in one or more programming
languages (Java, C, C++, C#, ABAP).
- Strong theoretic background and practical experience in internet
technologies, distributed systems, database systems, data modeling, machine
learning, or UI design.
- Strong theoretic background and practical experience in economics:
business process management, accounting, supply chain management or innovation
management.
- Good knowledge of standard MS office applications.
- Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and team
working skills.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written) is mandatory.
- Language skills in German are a plus, but not a must.
