MPAGS Prize Studentships
Midlands Physics Alliance
The Midlands Physics Alliance brings together three of the leading UK institutions - the Universities of Birmingham, Nottingham and Warwick. The three institutions together have over 300 physics postgraduates, one of the largest concentrations in the UK, and the Midlands Physics Alliance Graduate School (MPAGS) aims to provide a world class educational experience.
MPAGS awards prestigious PhD Prize Studentships which aim to attract extremely able physics graduates from around the world into the Midlands region. Two MPAGS Prize Studentships are offered in Nottingham from October 2008. MPAGS will cover fees and support for up to four years for students of any nationality.
We seek highly motivated students for PhD projects in the fields of condensed-matter physics, nanoscience, magnetic resonance and semiconductors. Projects may be experimental, theoretical, or a mixture of the two. Preference will be given to joint projects supervised across two of the partner institutions.
