Postgraduate Studentship Opportunities
Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD) is a leading centre for research in the creative arts, architecture and design. We are delighted to announce that as a result of our success in the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Block Grant Partnership Scheme, we are in a position to offer a range of Masters and Doctoral Studentships over the next five years.
Applications for October 2009 start are sought from well qualified candidates in the following areas:
Design - PhD
BIAD Studentships
In addition to our AHRC Block Grant allocation, as part of our strategic commitment to research training and development in art and design, we are creating a further PhD Studentship annually.
Applications for October 2009 start are sought from well qualified candidates wishing to pursue projects which align with our areas of research strength in: Art History and Theory, Architecture, Design, Fine Art, Jewellery, Landscape Architecture, Photography and Visual Communication. Applications will be assessed on intellectual merit and contribution to our strategic priorities.
The deadline for applications for both the AHRC and BIAD Studentships is 4.00pm on 15 June 2009. Short-listed applicants will be invited for interview on 29-30 June (Masters) or 2 July (PhD).
Awards cover fees and a maintenance grant of up to £13,290 per annum, subject to eligibility criteria.
