PhD positions in Econometrics
Maastricht University, Department of Quantitative Economics (Netherlands)
The Department of Quantitative Economics of Maastricht University is
looking for PhD candidates in Econometrics. Faculty members of the
econometrics group specialize in time series analysis and (dynamic)
panel data econometrics. Selected candidates obtain a 3-years position
financed by the research school METEOR of the Faculty of Economics and
Business Administration or directly by the Department.
JOB Description
The candidate will carry out a research project in one of the above
mentioned areas under the supervision of members of the group (see
http://www.fdewb.unimaas.nl/KE_v2/research/econometrics.asp). The
candidate will spend at most 20% of his time to teaching duties.
Candidates with a strong methodological/ theoretical background in
econometrics and/or statistics will be favored. Compensation will be
according to standard Dutch salary levels for PhD students.
JOB Qualifications
In order to qualify for a PhD position the candidate must have
successfully completed a two-years Master degree (MSc. or MPhil.) in
Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related area at
the latest by August 31st 2009 and have a good “competence” in written
and spoken English. Interest in theory and methods is a plus. Candidates
with a one-year Master degree may also apply but will have to follow and
successfully finish the second year courses of the METEOR MPhil research
master program before qualifying for the PhD position.
