A PhD scholarship supported by Australian Research Council is available in the area of Database/XML in the School of Computer and Information Science, the University of South Australia. The scholarship has AU$25000 of living allowance per annum for three years and has the tuition fee of the successful applicant paid by the university.
Successful applicants will be working in the area of query processing, data integration, or view updates of XML data.
Applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:
1. have done a master's degree (or honors degree) in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or possibly in other related areas;
Master-by-Coursework applicants who have done a research project of at least 18 units (full time half year or equivalent) and had publications will also be considered;
2. have got a Distinction average (>=80%) (or equivalent) in both bachelor's and honours (master) study;
3. (if English is not your first language) have a recent IELTS (academic) overall score of 7 with a minimum of 6.0 in all sub scores. The equivalent TOFEL score is internet test 100, computer test 250, or paper test 600.
