PhD Scholarships Accounting and Finance University of Edinburgh - University of Edinburgh Business School Considering a PhD with the University of Edinburgh? We're pleased to offer three scholarships in Accounting and Finance. Any area of study will be considered and listed below are the major areas of current staff research interest. •Accounting history •Accounting and consumer society •Asset Pricing •Banking •Corporate finance •Corporate governance •Behavioural finance •Econometrics of financial markets •Capital Markets •Healthcare and social care accounting and accountability •Initial Public Offerings (IPO) •Market based accounting research •Public sector accounting •Financial accounting •Management accounting Applicants will have: •Outstanding ideas for research at doctoral level with a clear potential to lead to research that is publishable in international journals. •Possession of a high quality undergraduate and/or masters degree or equivalent qualification. PhD students at the University of Edinburgh Business School benefit from some of the best financial data resources available anywhere in the UK including WRDS, Compustat, CRSP, Datastream, Thomson One Banker, SDC Platinum, Thomson Research, Worldscope, I/B/E/S, Execucomp, FAME, London Share Price Database (LSPD), Osiris, Reuters, etc. This scholarship scheme provides a valuable opportunity for successful applicants to undertake a package of career development opportunities over the duration of the award. Recipients will be expected to contribute to the School's teaching and research efforts. Potential tasks include tutoring, group facilitation, marking and conference organisation etc. The award will be for 3 years, subject to satisfactory progress, at the following rates: European Union candidates: standard EU tuition fee plus maintenance fee of £14,500 in 2012-13, £15,000 in 2013-14 and £15,500 in 2014-15.
