Curtin University is now calling for applications for 2009's postdoctoral and senior research fellowships. These are highly competitive and prestigious awards with 4-year terms. 13 in total are available across the whole university. Because of Curtin's current desire to concentrate research into a small number of key areas, preference (strong preference I am told) will be given to applications in designated areas.
Two designated specialisations apply particularly to Internet research and would enable a successful applicant to join the Department of Internet Studies. These specialisations are digital ecosystems and cultural enterprise. They are vague enough, I suspect, to enable many different research projects to be successfully proposed, but do require a degree of concentration of networked information technologies, and on the production/understanding of cultural forms and businesses.
