These awards include maintenance grants and tuition fees paid for UK students. For EU students the awards cover tuition fees only. Maintenance grants are £12,940 per year (2008-9 rate), and do not attract income tax or National Insurance.

The scheme is University-wide, and is open to applicants interested in studying in the School of Applied Social Sciences.

The awards cover the fees only at the overseas student rate. Applications are invited in any of the School's areas of research expertise
*Bursaries for students in Community and Youth Work and Social Work*: Several bursaries of £1,000 each are available for part-time or full-time study for a PhD in fields related to community and youth work and social work.
