PhD Students in Energy / Environmental Economics

CEPE (The Centre for Energy Policy and Economics) in ETH Zürich (www.cepe.ethz.ch) has several job openings for PhD students. CEPE is a globally-recognized center in energy-economy research which is in the Department of Management, Technology and Economics. We are interested in candidates who have completed the equivalent of a Masters degree and whose interests coincide with ongoing research at CEPE. Our current work includes
1. integrated assessment of climate policy,
2. energy-economy models of induced technical change,
3. quantitative assessment of regional economic impacts of climate change and climate policy measures. We explore energy-economy issues in Switzerland, other OECD countries and developing countries. The persons filling these positions will work under the supervision of Thomas F. Rutherford (Chair of Energy Economics) and other faculty in the Center for Economic Research at the ETH Zürich (www.cer.ethz.ch).
Good writing and computing skills are essential. The main focus of these positions will be on research. The appointment includes opportunities for teaching assistantships related to the candidate's field of interest. Knowledge of German and/or English is required.
PhD theses are to be completed within three to four years. As a PhD student in a leading research institute integrated in the ETH Zürich, you will conduct academic and policy-relevant economic research in an inspiring environment. The appointment includes the opportunity to write a dissertation in the candidate's field of interest. Gross salary will be in accordance with the regulations of the ETH Zürich.
